In 2021 Align came to life as an aftermath of pandemic struggles, a suboptimal idea based around pottering and two developers and a graphical designers longing to create. A desire to once again work together in the office was also present after a long time of working from home, due to the pandemic. The perspectives of advantages with both remote and office work resulted in the vision to create something simple and accessible that could help teams to optimise their teamwork, in regards to work location. Align was born and today helps teams to do just that.

Why Neil & Thread?

The suboptimal and initial solution to the creative desires of the founders was to build a recipe bank for pottery, life hacks and any other fun thing to do at home whilst enduring the pandemic. With content creation and interaction from and by users, the platform would help the average person to get creative in any location, by any means. It was called Neil & thread, taken from the swedish words "Nål och tråd" meaning "Needle and thread". Without initially realising that the swedish word "nål" does not at all translate to "Neil", the name sounded cool and stuck, long before Align was developed.
